Mechanical Services

The Mechanical Services section is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all mechanical installations and plant within the University. This includes the following services:

• Heating Systems
• Heating and Hot Water Boilers
• Hot and Cold Water Distribution Mains
• Plumbing and Internal Drainage
• Ventilation Systems (excluding air conditioning)
• Fume Extract Plant
• Compressed Air Supply
• Gas Distribution Mains
• Swimming Pool Plant
• Specialist Steam Supply Plant

The section aims to ensure that all mechanical services are installed correctly and function in a safe, efficient and reliable manner using either our own trade staff or outside contractors as necessary. Throughout this section a high priority is given to meeting health and safety and legislative requirements.

The Mechanical Services section is headed by Steve Holmes.
