Allan Mann

At 135 m high, the London Eye is the World’s largest observation wheel and is the fourth tallest structure in London. Under UK regulations, the London Eye is classified as a ‘ride’.

Dr Allan Mann will give an illustrated presentation on the project as a whole, describiing the engineering aspects of the Wheel’s design and construction: the mechanical drive and electrical systems:  instrumentation: and the acchievement of safety.

Dr Mann is a Divisional Director at Babtie Allott & Lomax where he specialises in structural work, mainly for the defence and nuclear industries.
