Professor DavidsonIn the lecture Professor Davidson will explore some of the current strategies of molecular design and show how the reactivity of molecules can be predicted and controlled in order to make new functional materials.

Professor Davidson will draw on examples from his own research to illustrate the lecture, including research into the molecular chemistry associated with the anti-aging properties of natural antioxidants and the production of environmentally friendly plastics.

Professor Davidson joined the University of Bath in 1999 after spells working at Cambridge and Durham. He was awarded the Harrison Medal of the Royal Society of Chemistry in 1996 and currently holds a Royal Society Industry Fellowship.
