Literature searching in Mathematics and Computer Science
Learn which bibliographic databases are most useful for finding journal articles and information to support mathematical sciences research.
About the workshop
This workshop will provide an overview of the bibliographic databases most useful for finding journal articles and information to support mathematical sciences research. We will look at both general and specialist databases provided by the library, including MathSciNet ACM digital library, IEEE Xplore, Scopus and Web of Science. This will be an interactive session with time for you to use the databases.
After attending this workshop, you will:
be able to make an informed choice about which database to use
be aware of the main characteristics and functions of the databases demonstrated
be able to reflect on the success of search activities and consider ways to improve them
have set up alerting features and/or a personal account for a relevant database
