As a new PhD student at the University of Bath Doctoral College, you are required to attend this compulsory central induction event.
During this session, you will find out everything you need to know to help you settle into life at Bath and begin your PhD. You will receive an official welcome pack - packed with useful information about the services and facilities that are available to you should you need them. You'll also hear from key members of staff on key topics such as working with your supervisor, your professional development and how you are represented as a postgraduate student.
As well as practical advice, it's an ideal opportunity to get to know your research community and find out how you can get involved through the wide range of activities that take place.
Our Doctoral Welcome Team, made up of current students, will also be on hand to share their own experiences and answer any questions that you might have about your PhD journey. At the end of the session, you'll also have the opportunity to join the Welcome Team on a tour of the campus.
If you are joining the University as a Professional Doctorate, you will have a separate induction integrated as part of your residential.
If you have any queries, please get in touch with the Doctoral Engagement Manager.
