Introduction to Financial Procedures

The Financial Procedures expand on the Financial Regulations and Policies and describe the detailed processes associated with a particular financial activity.

As we live in a rapidly changing world and Financial Procedures describe the detail of actual operations, it is anticipated that these will necessarily evolve over time to accommodate revisions to practice. The Procedures will therefore be updated to reflect any changes in practice and users are requested to periodically check for relevant procedural updates. The date of the latest update is shown at the foot of each web page.

Members of staff in the Finance Office are always willing to help staff in departments who have queries concerning any matter relating to Financial Procedures. Contact information can be found as part of each section of the Procedures and these staff should be the point of contact for any concerns or uncertainty about particular aspects of a specific Procedure.

Similarly, if your department is about to undertake a new activity which you feel is not adequately covered by existing Procedures, please contact the Finance Office at an early stage so that we can advise, and if necessary develop with you a new Financial Procedure.
