FLC Brazilian Portuguese GPWith its position as the leading economy in South America, home of World Cup winning football and much of the Amazon, plus over 4,500 miles of coastline, Brazil important economically and environmentally as-well-as a fabulous tourist destination.

Our course provides an introduction to both Brazilian Portuguese and European Portuguese.

Based on a communicative approach to learning, you will learn practical language that you will be able to use in every day conversations. In addition, you will develop cultural awareness of the Portuguese speaking world. A world of 230 million native speakers, from 8 nations Europe, Asia, South America and Africa.

Choosing the correct language level

Use the information below to choose the correct language level for you.

Beginner part 2 (Stage 1)

This level has been designed for you if you have a basic knowledge of  Brazilian Portuguese. This course is not suitable for complete beginners.

This level will give you a basic introduction to the language.

Lower Intermediate part 2 (Stage 2)

This level has been designed for you if you can already use Brazilian Portuguese to speak about familiar topics. You can join this course even if you did not attend part 1, provided you are at the right level.

You should join this level if you can:

  • understand basic instructions
  • take part in a basic factual conversation on a predictable topic
  • understand basic written notices
  • complete basic forms, and write notes including times, dates and places.
