Carole Barbier
Carole Barbier joined the Foreign Languages Centre in September 2011, after having taught French in secondary schools, in Further Education Colleges and within Higher Education. She has also worked as a Teaching and Learning Consultant, supporting teachers to improve their teaching. Originally from France, she has lived in Europe, the USA and Africa and has a broad understanding as well as an interest in global education issues. In addition to teaching with the FLC, Carole currently also works as a trainer in schools and colleges. She trains on pedagogy and how to make learning effective and fun, which is what she tries to deliver and implement in her classes.
Cécile Mary
Cécile Mary was appointed as a part-time French Teaching Fellow at the Foreign Languages Centre in 2006. She qualified to teach French as a foreign language in France and worked at the University of South Florida before moving to the UK. Cécile teaches with energy and enthusiasm and has collaborated in the Routes into Languages and other outreach programmes on a number of occasions, hence adding to her wide range of teaching experiences.
Valérie Morgan
Valérie Morgan has been teaching French at the Foreign Languages Centre since 2007. Originally from Dax, in the South West of France, she graduated in English at the University of Bordeaux. She qualified as a teacher after moving to Bath in 1993. Before working at the FLC, Valérie taught in secondary schools in Borneo and in the UK. In addition to having specialised in teaching French to adults, she also teaches home-schooled children and prepares them for French exams.
Anne Paturet
Anne Paturet has been teaching French at the Foreign Languages Centre since 1997. In 2008 she was appointed asTeam Leader for French. She studied at the Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris and obtained a MA before moving to the UK. She gained a PGCE at the University of Bath. She is an experienced teacher of French as a foreign language.
Emilie Poletto
Emilie Poletto joined the Foreign Languages Centre in 2010. Originally from the South West of France, she studied at the University of Bordeaux and obtained two MAs from the same (American Studies and Translation). She moved to the UK in 2008 and worked at the University of Sheffield as a French lectrice before moving to the University of Bath. Emilie is also an Associate of the Higher Education Academy.
