How we make decisions
The University publishes large amounts of information about its operational
decision-making processes.
Terms of reference, a schedule of meeting dates, membership, procedural
rules and confirmed minutes of meetings of the University's statutory
bodies and main committees, including Court, Council and Senate, can be
viewed from: http://www.bath.ac.uk/internal/committees/.
At the highest level, the views and interests of students are represented
via the Students' Union at meetings of the Council/Senate/Students' Union
Committee. More information about this Committee, including minutes of
meetings, is available from: http://www.bath.ac.uk/internal/committees/cssuc/.
Each department/school/partner organisation of the University is required
to have at least one Staff/Student Liaison Committee (SSLC). The principles
on which SSLCs operate are set out in the University's Quality Assurance
Code of Practice (QA48).
The minutes of SSLCs are published within the University, but are not
generally made more widely available. This is because their business,
which may relate to individual students or members of staff, focuses primarily
on the internal student community.
