Over £6 million for new postgraduate researchers at the University of Bath in 2010/11
The University offers a wide range of funding opportunities for its research postgraduates, amounting to more than £6 million for those starting in 2010/11. These include studentships funded by the University itself, and those in its portfolio of Research Council funding. University Research Studentships
A fund of over £3 million provides up to 55 University Research Studentships for students starting in 2010/11. These three-year awards cover Home/EU tuition fees, training support fees, and a stipend of at least £13290. Find out more about these studentships.
University Overseas Scholarships
We also offer up to 10 Overseas Scholarships for research students. These provide up to three years of support, consisting of the full overseas tuition fee, accommodation in University residences, and a training support fee. Recipients of these scholarships will have to support their own living expenses. Find out more about these scholarships.
Graduate School Scholarships
Graduate School Scholarships are for research students with outstanding potential. You will need the intellectual excitement and ideas to make an exceptional contribution to our new Graduate Schools. The Schools will select the students they think can achieve this. Scholarships are available in any subject we support and are for entry in October 2010. Graduate Research Scholarships in the School of Management
The School of Management offers four-year Graduate Research Scholarships, covering Home/EU tuition fees and a stipend. These students must contribute annually up to 100 teaching hours. Find out more about Graduate Research Scholarships.
UK Research Council Studentships in Doctoral Training Centres
The Industrial Doctorate Centre in Digital Media, Special Effects and Animation in the Department of Computer Science offers studentships on the EngD programme in Digital Media. Find out more about this Studentship.
The Doctoral Centre in Sustainable Chemical Technologies in the Departments of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering offers studentships for the four-year integrated PhD programme in Sustainable Chemical Technologies. Find out more about this Studentship.

Other UK Research Council Studentships
The University holds Doctoral Training Grants totalling more than £2 million from the EPSRC, BBSRC and MRC in the Faculties of Science and Engineering and Design and in the School of Management. This funding is available for research students from the UK and EU only, and includes the Home/EU tuition fee, a training support fee, and a stipend of at least £13290 in 2010/11. They are tenable for between three and four years.
The University also holds ESRC research studentships in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the School of Management. These include 1+3 awards (MRes followed by PhD) and + 3 awards (PhD only) funding and cover tuition fees for UK/EU students, a training support fee and living expenses (UK students only)
Industrial CASE studentships, in collaboration with industry, are also available in departments across the University.
