Student eligibility & attendance

Award Ceremonies are held by the University of Bath twice a year, once in the winter just before Christmas, and once in the summer. Students are only eligible to attend the ceremony immediately after their award has been approved and therefore cannot choose which time of year they graduate.

Only students achieving the following awards are eligible to attend an award ceremony:

• A Foundation Degree
• A first degree,  which are those called “Bachelor of …” or, for undergraduate masters’ degrees, “Master of …”, or "Master in ..."
• A Higher degree, which are those called “Doctor of …”, and postgraduate degrees called “Masters of …”

Please Note: Students who are due to graduate with a postgraduate Masters degree but are instead awarded the Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate will not be eligible to attend an Award Ceremony.

Those students who are on courses validated by the University of Bath are not eligible to attend an Award Ceremony at the University.
