The activities and events on offer

The University offers Secondary schools a number of subject enrichment activities to enhance the school curriculum and enable students to make informed decisions about their future and develop their understanding of Higher Education.

  • Curriculum Enrichment Projects for schools - offered in schools, these projects typically consist of six, one-hour sessions at clubs. Each project is typically an hour long and designed to complement and enhance the curriculum as well as support the development of key learning skills
  • Year 8 & 9 Futures Days- these encourage your students to reflect on their skills and interests, discover the different types of courses and learning pathways available beyond GCSEs
  • Year 9 & 10 Taster & Languages Days - provide an opportunity to learn about the general range of courses at the University and an early insight into what it is like to live and study at university
  • Teaching Ambassadors - we arrange for undergraduate Teaching Ambassadors to support Key Stage 3 & 4 classes in Science, Maths and Languages
  • Campus Visits – your school can take a tour of the University, see the facilities and find out about student life
  • Presentations, workshops, Career and HE Fairs in school and colleges- we offer a variety of talks for students and parents on different aspects of Higher Education, curriculum focused workshops and subject to staff availability, support for Careers, HE Fairs and parents' evenings
