Applying for a place on a Summer School
Find out how you can apply for a place on one of the Summer Schools run by Widening Participation for Year 12 students.
Application forms and information
Your teacher will give you printed information about our Summer Schools. They will also give you the application form.
If your teacher has not given you information or you are not sure that your school can take part, ask your teacher to contact us.
What you need to do
Read everything your teacher gives you before you start to apply.
Make sure that you meet the eligibility criteria. Your teacher or adviser can answer any questions and find out any extra information for you.
You need to supply your predicted grades for your exams to be able to complete the form. You also need to write a statement for the application. This must explain why you want to attend and how you will benefit.
What your parent or carer needs to do
Your parent or carer needs to complete and sign part of the form.
What your teacher needs to do
Your teacher needs to sign your form and provide some supporting information. This includes a statement to explain what they think you will gain from coming to a Summer School.
Deadline for applications
The deadline for applications is March 2017.
You should give your form to your teacher to send to the University. The address is on the application form.
If your teacher does not give you an application form, you can download one.
Year 12 Summer School
If you are interested in either the Social Sciences, Science or Engineering Summer School, you will need to download and complete the Year 12 Summer School application form which will be available in January.
Finding out if you have got a place
We will email you to tell you we have received your form.
There are approximately 50 places available. We will send you a letter to let you know if you have a place or not. It takes up to two months for us to confirm places.
