Accreditation of prior (experiential) learning - AP(E)L
If you have sufficient prior learning and experience relating to teaching you may have the opportunity to claim exemption from some units of the Bath Course in Enhancing Academic Practice. This is not the same as seeking exemption from probation overall.
Which sections can I claim AP(E)L from?
You may be granted AP(E)L from attendance and assessment for Parts 1 and 2 if you can provide evidence to show you have equivalent prior qualifications/status or considerable experience relating to teaching. Some supporting (non-assessed) tasks and activities may still be required or recommended to fill gaps in induction and prior learning.
Research Management is mandatory for all lecturers.
How can I claim AP(E)L?
- read the AP(E)L guidelines to see if you are eligible
- complete the AP(E)L application form and return it to the Programmes Administrator.
Please note that until you have received official confirmation that you are exempt, you will be expected to engage with the programme of activities.
