Borrowing items

You can use the self-issue machines to borrow our resources. To do this, you will need your Library card and PIN. If you have forgotten your PIN, you will need to contact the Library Issue Desk

Loan period for DVDs, textbooks and audio CDs

You can borrow DVDs, textbooks and audio CDs for three days. All items must be returned by midnight of the advised due date. If you borrow items on a Wednesday, you can return them on the following Monday.

Loan period for fiction and easy reader books

You can borrow these items for seven days. They will be automatically extended up to 12 months or to the end of your course if no other reader wishes to borrow them.

Looking for a specific resource

If you would like to look for a specific resource, the Library catalogue will help you to identify if more copies of a book or DVD are available to be borrowed.

If all copies of a book or a DVD are on loan, you can make a reservation.

Return items

You can return any items using the Returns drop-in boxes on Level 2.

Overdue and lost items

Late return of items will be liable for a fine. We charge:

  • £0.40 per book per day
  • £1.00 per DVD and audio CDS

This is payable at the Library Issue-Desk.

If you lose an item or are unable to return it on the due date, please inform us by email immediately.
