Getting to and staying in guest accommodation

How to get here, check in, find parking, connect to our free Wi-Fi and use other campus facilities while staying in our accommodation.

Getting here

It's really simple to get to the city of Bath. The University and city have excellent transport links, with Bath well served by trains from London, Wales and the South West. Bristol airport is just a few miles away and there are plenty of buses and taxis to get you around the city itself once you're here.

Staying in the city

Our guest accommodation in the city centre is close to the train and bus stations, ideally located if you want to travel by public transport.

Staying on campus

If you're staying with us on campus, there are regular buses between the city centre and the University.

Parking

Parking on campus

You can park your car on campus if you are staying here as a guest. Buy a weekly permit for £5.50 at the East Accommodation Centre. This will allow you to park on campus for up to seven days.

You can also use the Pay & Display car parks around campus. Parking is free between 5pm and 8am Monday to Saturday, and all day on Sunday.

Parking in the city

If you're staying in our city centre accommodation, the closest car park is on Avon Street. Weekly permits are available from the ticket machine.

Checking in to accommodation

Campus accommodation

When you arrive, please check in at the East Accommodation Centre.

We recommend that you check in between 2pm and midnight.

From midnight to 4am reception is staffed by the Security team.

There are no staff at reception between 4am and 7am. If you arrive between 4am and 7am, call the Security team on 01225 383853. They will come and check you in. You may have a short wait for a member of the Security team to meet you.

City centre accommodation

When you arrive in Bath, please check in at the City Accommodation Centre.

We recommend that you check in between 2pm and midnight.

If you arrive between midnight and 7am, call the Security team on 01225 383853. They are based on campus but will travel into the city to help you check in. You may have a short wait for a member of the Security team to meet you.

If you need to work, contact friends and family or just stay connected while you're here, high speed Wi-Fi is available across all of our accommodation, both on campus and in the city centre.

Connecting to the network is free and simple.

Food and drink

Breakfast

On campus

If you are staying on campus, breakfast is included in the price of your accommodation and served at the Lime Tree from 7.30am to 11am.

In the city

If you are staying in city centre accommodation, we do not provide breakfast. Basic kitchen equipment is available on request. Please talk to our guest accommodation team.

Other meals

Eating on campus

There is a wide range of places to eat and drink on campus, including fresh salads and home-made pizzas in Lime Tree, gourmet burgers in Parade Bar And Grill and coffees and sandwiches in 4W Cafe.

You can also use your accommodation kitchen to prepare meals. Kitchen packs, which include utensils and pots and pans are available from the East Accommodation Centre. There are two small supermarkets on campus to buy ingredients.

Opening hours for facilities on campus may vary during student holidays.

Eating in the city

You can choose from a wide range of cafes, restaurants and bars in town, serving various global cuisines, including Bath's famous Sally Lunn's bun.

Sports facilities on campus

We have a state-of-the-art sports centre on campus. It is open to the public and you are able to use the Sports Training Village when you stay with us.

Emergencies

If you discover an emergency

Contact Security in the case of an emergency during your stay.

Emergency evacuation procedures

Our trained staff will help you evacuate the building in the case of an emergency.

If you have a disability or mobility issue, please let us know when you book your room so we can arrange a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP).

Rooms above the ground floor have access to refuge points and emergency lifts. All exits lead to a level surface.

Recycling in accommodation

Our campus is surrounded by gorgeous Natural Trust land and scenery, and the city of Bath is a beautiful World Heritage location, so it will come as no surprise that we're passionate about caring for the environment.

Each kitchen in our accommodation contains recycling bins for your rubbish. Please make sure you recycle your waste correctly when staying in our accommodation and help us keep our environment green and healthy.

Checking out

Please check out of your room by 10am on your day of departure. You will be charged for another night's accommodation in your room if you do not check out by 10am.

If you stayed on campus, return your keys to the East Accommodation Centre reception.

If you stayed in the city, return your keys to the City Accommodation Centre reception.

Late check out

We offer a late check out service which allows you to stay in your accommodation until 2pm.

You will be charged an additional 50% of the cost of your nightly room rate for this service.

Luggage storage

If you don't plan on leaving Bath immediately after checking out, you can leave your luggage with staff in the City and East Accommodation centres.

We do not have a secure area for luggage and there is limited space, so you may not be able to keep your items behind the desk.

You will only be able to pick up your luggage during opening hours.
