We offer two levels in Japanese, Complete Beginner and Lower Intermediate.
You should enrol on this course if you have a basic level of Japanese. This level is not suitable for those who have never studied Japanese before. If you are a complete beginner, contact us.
At the end of this course, you will:
have had an introduction to the language (pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar)
be confident in talking about every day topics, such as: self-introduction, family, useful phrases (greetings, when shopping and at a restaurant), daily routine and holiday
start reading and writing using the Japanese alphabets (Hiragana and Katakana)
have learnt about the culture of Japan
You should enrol on this course if you have completed the Beginners' level with us. Alternatively, you can join this course if you have a GCSE or are at A1 level in the CEFR.
At the end of this course this course, you will be able:
to speak about a variety of subjects within your field of interest
to describe experiences and events and express thoughts and opinions
to understand the main points of clear standard speech on familiar matters, provided speech is clearly articulated
to read notes and messages using Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji
to write simple texts using Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji
