Marlborough Court and Solsbury Court are self-catered accommodation for undergraduate students on the east side of campus.
About this accommodation
Marlborough Court and Solsbury Court consist of ten blocks of accommodation. They house 468 first-year undergraduates in flats of five to seven bedrooms. There are a small number of the rooms for mature students, aged 21 or over.
They are on the east side of our Claverton Down campus, a five-minute walk to the Library and Students' Union.
Marlborough Court and Solsbury Court have:
- secure swipe card access to buildings and flats
- secure bike storage
The bedrooms in Marlborough Court and Solsbury Court give you personal space to work and relax.
Each room has:
- standard 91cm x 183cm single bed
- desk, chair and drawers
- en-suite shower, toilet and sink
- high-speed Wi-Fi and ethernet
Kitchens and dining
Each flat has a communal kitchen with:
- electric hob
- microwave oven
- cupboard storage space
- dining table and chairs
- recycling facilities
Accommodation for students with disabilities
If you have a disability, there are ground floor rooms in Marlborough Court designed to meet your needs.
We can make further adaptations to your room if your Disability Access Plan requires it.
We have additional rooms for students with disabilities across our accommodation.
Marlborough Court is made up of four buildings. Each building has three floors with 14 bedrooms.
Your room details contain your block, floor and room number.
For example, the room number MD5.3 means you are located in Marlborough Court, block D, fifth floor, room three.
Solsbury Court is made up of six buildings. Each building has three floors with 14 bedrooms.
Your room details contain your building, floor and room number.
For example, the room number SC3.5 means you are located in Solsbury Court, block C, third floor, room five.

You are responsible for keeping your rooms clean and tidy. You can buy extra cleaning services for your bedroom, bathroom and kitchen.
At the start of the academic year you can elect a Hall Representative.
The Students’ Union supports Hall Representatives to organise social and community-building events.
Hall Representatives collect student feedback about living in the accommodation. They discuss this with the University and the Students’ Union to make sure your voices are heard.
