On Track to Bath: Social Sciences Track

A free one-year curriculum enhancement programme for students considering a course in Social Sciences, Social Work, Education or Psychology.

What your students can expect

The On Track to Bath Social Sciences Track is for students considering studying subjects like Social Sciences, Social Work, Education or Psychology at university.

Your students will have the opportunity to:

  • find out about studying social sciences at university
  • discuss and analyse topical issues
  • explore the relationship of individuals with society

They will develop the necessary skills and abilities to be a successful social scientist, including:

  • critical thinking
  • independent study skills
  • evaluation
  • essay-writing
  • analysing and communicating effectively

They will discuss topical issues and make the most of the facilities on campus.

They will be able to reference this experience in their UCAS application.

Academic research project

Your students will study an academic research project. This will develop essential skills and practices for studying at a university level.

They can choose a topic of research that interests them from a variety of themes. They attend a programme of nine on-campus sessions.

The project will also help students who want to go on and take the Extended Project at AS level.
