Registering to attend your graduation ceremony

How to register for your graduation ceremony and how to get your award certificate if you can’t come.

Registering to attend

You will get an email from the University inviting you to attend your award ceremony if you are a graduating undergraduate, postgraduate or research student.

You can then register to attend your ceremony and tell us how many guest tickets you would like. You should do this even if you are not sure whether your studies will be complete by the ceremony.

Deadline for registration

You must register by 9am British Summer Time (BST) on 24 April 2017. If you miss the deadline you may not be allowed to attend.

If you have not received an email invitation by 4 April 2017, it may be that your academic circumstances have changed, or that you are not receiving an award that is eligible for a ceremony.

Email graduation@bath.ac.uk if you have not received an invitation to register and want to check why.

Completing registration

You need to:

  1. login to SAMIS
  2. access the form called ‘Graduation Ceremony’
  3. confirm that you will attend
  4. confirm the correct name to appear on your degree certificate
  5. tell us how many guest tickets you would like (max. 2 per student)
  6. tell us if you or your guests have any special requirements for the day

You can change your details anytime until the deadline.

Declaring that you won’t attend

Use SAMIS to tell us that you will not attend your ceremony and tell us how you would like to receive your degree certificate.

You need to:

  1. login to SAMIS
  2. access the form called ‘Graduation Ceremony’
  3. confirm that you will attend
  4. confirm the correct name to appear on your degree certificate
  5. tell us how you would like to receive your degree certificate
