Healthcare Informatics

CPD Units

Please note: The MSc and PG Diploma in Healthcare Informatics are no longer available as study options. Apologies if this causes disappointment.

However, we are pleased to be able to offer a number of individual CPD units. These still remain specific, affordable and essential to your role in Healthcare Informatics. Please see below for each unit available. These are units that would have been covered on the MSc route and delivered part-time, via distance learning, over a period of 3-6 months. Any students currently enrolled on the HCI programme will be unaffected by this change and will continue to progress towards their recognised specialist qualification as normal.

 * CPD unit will only run on demand (i.e. there must be sufficient interest in the Unit for it to run).

Further qualifications

The University now offers a professional development scheme enabling those studying individual CPD units to work towards a postgraduate qualification. Any of the individual CPD units listed above can be used as credit towards this award. For further details visit the University's CPD webpages.

We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds.

If English is not your native language, the University requires evidence of your level of ability in spoken and written English. The University entry criteria is IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 580 (paper based test) or 237 (computer-based test) or 92 (internet-based test) with not less than 21 in each of the components.
 

Fees*


Please note: Fees relate to the 2009/10 academic year.

CPD payment per 6 credit unit:    £775

CPD payment per 12 credit unit:  £1550

MSc transfer fee: £1155

Current diploma students - instalment fees: 4 x £1490 (total £5960)

 

*About the fees
CPD unit fees must be paid in full at the start of the course. The University endeavours to keep distance learning programme fee increases to a minimum.
Fees are normally reviewed in May of each year. The University reserves the right to change fees at any time and will ensure that all Programme members to who increases are applicable, are notified in advance of any changes.
