BSc Sport and Exercise Science (graduate)

Lilleshall Sports Injury and Human Performance Centre (LSIHPC)

The University of Bath stood out for me from the outset when choosing where to study Sport and Exercise Science. This was based on the opportunity to take the third year placement year as part of my studies. In my mind the quality of the University, the degree and lecturers was key, but the differentiating factor for my career and prospects was this 'real-life' experience.

Looking back, my placement year has defined the career path that I have followed to date. I took a placement at the Lilleshall Sports Injury and Human Performance Centre (LSIHPC), and whilst LSIHPC employed me immediately post my degree, it was in fact the people that I met and the relationships that I developed that supported my post graduate progression into GlaxoSmithKline, and then subsequently self-employment.

Based on my experience, I continue to maintain a close relationship with the University, both on external projects and internal support on careers. This is based simply on my belief in the quality of the degree, the institution, and most importantly the quality of the students that graduate.
