Hospitality & Accommodation Access Statement
Car Parking and Approach
- On-site car parking is available across the campus with 24 hour monitored CCTV in operation
- Parking is available within close proximity for all Beds at Bath guests
- Clearly identified accessible parking bays are provided within all car parks
- Traffic-calming measures including speed detection signage are strategically situated across the campus
- A drop off point is available for guests immediately outside the Woodland Court reception entrance and the Polden Court Accommodation Service Centre
- Our Operations Accommodation team can provide assistance with luggage transfer. Please note that this service will need to booked in advance of your visit
West Accommodation Centre
- Seating and clipboards are available for guests to assist with the completion of their check-in documentation
- The approach leading up to the entrance is level
- The reception area is accessed via a single step (152mm high) leading directly into a clear and level reception area which is carpeted throughout
- The entrance has a well lit canopy over the top
- Induction Loops are installed within the reception area
- All conversations are conducted face to face with no distracting backgrounds or music
East Accommodation Centre
- Seating and clipboards are available for guests to assist with the completion of their check-in documentation
- The approach leading up to the entrance is level
- The reception area is accessed via an automated sliding door leading directly into a clear and level reception area which has a carpeted seating area with stone finished walkways
- The entrance has a well lit canopy over the top
- Induction Loops are installed within the reception area
- Face to face interaction is provided at all times
- All conversations are conducted face to face with no distracting backgrounds or music
Polden Bedrooms
- Accessible bedrooms complete with en-suite facilities are available
- Our en-suite facilities include level entry showers complete with shower seats
- All WC’s are equipped to DDA standards and have emergency pull chords linked to an audible alarm
- All rooms have telephones complete with large button key pads
- Vibrating pillows/under pillow pads are available upon request – please reserve these when making your room booking
- On request a list of local hire services for hoists/bed blocks can be provided
- All rooms have TV's complete with subtitles and teletext capabilities
Woodland Court Bedrooms
- Accessible bedrooms complete with en-suite facilities are available
- Our en-suite facilities include level entry showers complete with shower seats
- All WC’s are equipped to DDA standards and have emergency pull chords linked to an audible alarm
- All rooms have telephones complete with large button key pads
- Vibrating pillows/under pillow pads are available upon request – please reserve these when making your room booking
- On request a list of local hire services for hoists/bed blocks can be provided
Public areas
- Where guests are assigned a non-ground floor room in Woodland Court modern lift facilities are provided to include reversing mirrors, Braille control panel linked to a 24 hr emergency call out service, audible floor confirmation and internal handrails situated at (920mm high)
- All wayfinding signage complies with current requirements
- All doors, entrances and corridors are suitable for wheelchair users, individuals using mobility aids such as zimmer frames as well as those using pushchairs
- All corridors are well lit and level throughout
- Accessible toilets are available for use within the public areas on campus
- External lighting is strategically located to ensure that good visibility is maintained at all times
Restaurant, Bars and Coffee Shops
- There is a large selection of places to eat and drink on campus
- All venues can accommodate wheelchair users, individuals using mobility aids such as zimmer frames as well as those using pushchairs
- Special dietary requirements can be accommodated upon request – please inform a member of the reservations team when making your booking
Emergency Evacuation Procedures
- Individual requirements should be discussed at the point of booking your room so that a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan can be compiled if required
- Where non-ground floor rooms are assigned emergency lift facilities are provided as are refuge points
- All staff including our security teams have received training on how to manage the evacuation of our buildings in the event of an emergency
- All exit points lead out onto a level surface
Other
- University of Bath has an award winning Security teams patrol the campus 24 hrs a day/7 days a week
- Fully accessible buses linking the University to Bath City Centre can be accessed via a dedicated bus terminal located within the University campus
