Huw Griffiths Lic Ac is an experienced meditation teacher and delivers Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to individuals, groups, schools and organisations in the UK. A long term meditator who, for over thirty years has attended many Buddhist based teachings and retreats in support of his own personal practice. Huw has attended the teacher training retreat at the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice at the University of Wales in Bangor. Huw is also a Five Element Acupuncturist who has been in practice for over 24 years, experienced within the field of mind/body/health specialising in working with stress related illness.

About this course

This pilot session provides a practical introduction to mindfulness. You will be introduced to the key concepts and the scientific research that underpins mindfulness today and how this relates to managing stress and health. 

The session will include discussions, interspersed with guided meditations and simple, practical methods that you can take away and use in every day interactions in life.

Please note: This session involves a body scan meditation which is done lying down on the floor, or sitting in a chair if preferred. If attending, you will need to bring a yoga mat or similar, together with a light blanket and cushion for this activity.


By the end of the course you will be aware of how to:

  • Use mindfulness techniques to help deal with stress, anxiety, negative thinking patterns and emotional patterns

Who should attend

All staff who wish to use mindfulness to increase your resilience in dealing with pressure and/or stressful events.
