Moe Griffin is a Student Mental Health Worker at the University with over 25 years' experience as a psychiatric nurse. She is a qualified alcohol & drug dependency nurse and ran the Regional Addiction Unit in the West Midlands. She has worked in GP surgeries providing psychological/educational training to people with depression and anxiety and currently works with students with serious and complex mental health difficulties.

This is a 12 hour course consisting of 4 modules spread over 2 days. It comprises a mixture of presentations and participation and is accredited by the Royal Society of Public Health. Who should attend this course
This course is aimed at all staff but particularly those who support students' well-being, and want to increase their knowledge, confidence and skills in dealing with mental health awareness and disorders.
Please note: MHFA aims to increase individual’s knowledge of and confidence in discussing mental health difficulties. As a result some of the content may be challenging and can, on occasion, trigger emotionally distressing responses in individuals. Whilst course facilitators are always willing to provide support within the context of the course this will not extend beyond the two days. In cases where you feel you may be affected by the course, or if your need is for personal development or emotional support please consider these factors prior to attending the course.
