Our general health and wellbeing is influenced by our choice of activities. This includes our choice of physical activity, the foods we eat, our sleep patterns, whether we drink alcohol, use tobacco, and our relationship with those around us.

Those of us with sedentary work roles often have particular challenges in taking suitable exercise. The Sports Training Village has developed an easy and fun programme 'Balance for Work' specially tailored for staff in such roles. 

Smoking

In accordance with legislation, smoking is not permitted within any of the University's buildings.  Smoking is also not permitted on the Parade, the Underdeck and within four metres of buildings. 

Alcohol

The use of alcohol during, or just prior, to working hours needs to be considered carefully especially for those in safety critical roles where any intoxication may increase the risk to both them and those around them.
