Scholarships & studentships

  • Scholarships contribute towards the Tuition Fees.
  • Studentships cover the cost of Tuition Fees and they can also include a Stipend (living expenses).

International Office Scholarships 75 scholarships are available to all postgraduate taught international students from specific countries. There are also a number of externally funded scholarships for students from specific regions or countries. Further information available on the Study pages
Santander Masters Scholarships for students from Latin America There are six Santander Masters Scholarships each worth £5,300 for international fee-paying taught masters applicants for any subject area. Further information available on the Study website.
Graduate School Scholarships There are 9 Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences scholarships each worth £2,000 for international fee-paying taught masters applicants from any country for MA/MSc programmes in Humanities and Social Sciences.

Euromasters Scholarship Six scholarships (awarded in June each year) are available to students studying the MA Contemporary European Studies (Euromasters).
  • Up to £1,000 for students from EU countries
  • Up to £2,000 for students outside the EU
Applicants must submit no more than 500 words detailing why they think they should be considered, based on academic achievements and contributions to the programme.
Applicants must indicate this in the online application form

Commonwealth Shared Scholarships Scheme (CSSS) Awards Students from Commonwealth countries studying the following programmes are eligible to apply:
You must have secured an unconditional offer of a place at the University of Bath by 31 March 2013 to be eligible.

Once CSSS awardees have submitted their dissertation for examination, they must return home within two weeks of completing their studies. Attending the graduation ceremony is not part of the award. More information.

Professional Preparation Masters (PPM)
(Provided by the Arts & Humanities Research Council)
One years funding is available only to Home/EU students studying: Applicants must meet the Student Eligibility Requirements of the AHRC. This funding scheme forms part of the Block Grant Partnership (BGP). Applicants must indicate this in the online application form

Project funding opportunities

Erasmus Mundus External Cooperation Window project
(funded by the European Commission)
The project started in 2010 (lasting for three years) and will fund fourteen students and researchers from Argentina, Bolivia and Peru to come to Bath. One MA place is available in the Department of Education. Apply through the Erasmus Mundus website.
