- Impact Acceleration Account

Films showcase the collaborative projects of the Knowledge Transfer AccountToby-Jenkins-6

The films of EPSRC Knowledge Transfer Account (KTA) funded projects have been brought together on one webpage and are available for viewing and further dissemination.

The fourteen films cover a range of projects from across the University, highlighting the collaborative R&D work funded by the KTA and the resulting benefits to Bath and our partners.

These include:

Dr Amber Young, South West UK Children’s Burn Centre, discusses how she is working with Dr Toby Jenkins, Department of Chemistry, to develop a new burns dressing for children, that could help reduce scarring.

Mike Lyons, Aero Engine Controls, discusses the benefits offered by the piezoelectric valves developed by Professor Andrew Plummer’s group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Andy Sutton, BRE, discusses how he was seconded in to work with Professor Pete Walker, Department of Architecture & Civil Engineering, to communicate the research findings in low carbon renewable building materials to the construction industry.

There is also a film outlining what impact means at Bath, presented by Professor Jane Millar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research, Professor James Bilzon, Department for Health and Dr Chris Brace, Department of Mechanical Engineering.

What next?

The Knowledge Transfer Account has been followed by an EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account (IAA), which runs until the end of September 2015 and focusses on encouraging pathways to impact.
