Access Information
We welcome people with disabilities or specific learning difficulties and additional support needs and are working to improve access to all our activities. The brochure is available in LARGE PRINT.
Facilities: ICIA Arts Theatre and Arts Complex are on ground level with designated car parking just metres away. The Arts Theatre has automated doors and spaces for wheelchair users in the front four rows, and an accessible toilet. ICIA Art Space 1 is accessible by lift, Art Space 2 is on ground level with free parking nearby for blue badge holders - see map.
Guide dogs welcome, please advise us in advance to ensure a space for your dog.
An induction loop operates in the ICIA Arts Theatre.

Access Routes to ICIA Venues & Spaces
Accessible routes from Car Parks to the Arts Complex, Arts Theatre, Art Spaces 1 & 2, ICIA Offices and Norwood House Practice Rooms
The University, Bath campus, centers on The Parade and there is disabled access via a lift from East car park and via a ramp from West car park. The location of these can be found on our campus map page at http://www.bath.ac.uk/maps
From Bus Stop and East Car Park:
From the car park make head towards the main campus Parade buildings. There is a drop curb access from the car park to the bus stop area. Follow the blue signs which say ‘Access Route’.
- Continue ahead towards the road that passes under the campus buildings. Keep following the path past the steps on the left hand side.
- A few meters along from the steps there is an external lift on the right hand side which will goes up to the main Parade where most of the academic departments and other facilities are located.
From West Car Park:
- From the car park head towards the main campus buildings, following the blue signs which say ‘Access Route’.
- Continue ahead and there is a ramp leading up towards 8 West, continue ahead and through a set of double doors and this opens comes out on The Parade.
All of the car parks on campus offer parking to blue badge holders. Guide dogs are allowed in all buildings in the University of Bath.
Art Space 1:
Art Space 1 is situated below the Claverton Rooms, opposite the Library. This is accessible for all users from the main Parade. There are two sets of double doors that need to be pulled open.
Art Space 2:
Art Space 2 is situated in 3 West North. Follow one of the paths at either side of the Library, turn left and follow the pavement along the side of the road, this comes to the side of 3 West North. There are power assisted doors this building.
ICIA Box Office & Offices:
The ICIA Box Office and offices are situated on the East side of the Library, and are well sign posted. There is a set of double doors that pull towards outwards.
Norwood House Music Practice Rooms:
Norwood House Music Practice rooms are situated in the Students Union. The key can be obtained from the University Security Desk in the Library. Turn left out of the main entrance of the Library, and head towards the Students Union. Pass through a set of double doors that pull outwards. Pass the University Radio Station on the left hand side. There is a blue door will be on the right hand side, once entered, use the key to unlock the specific practice room booked.
Claverton Rooms:
The Claverton Rooms are accessible via Art Space 1 and are upstairs. There is a lift available but due to current building work a member of ICIA staff will need to accompany visitors. Please ring in advance and to make arrangements.
Accessible Routes from East Car Park to the ICIA Arts Complex
For access from the East Car Park and Bus Stops, head towards the Sports Training Village. There is drop kerb access from the car park. (The Arts Complex is situated between the Sports Training Village and the car park).
Arts Complex – Studios 1 & 2:
Studios 1 & 2 are situated in the Arts Barn at the Arts Complex. There is a set of double doors which has a slight raised ledge. Turn left for Studio 1 and right for Studio 2. The nearest accessible toilet is in the adjacent ICIA Arts Theatre.
Arts Theatre:
The Arts Theatre is situated in the Arts Complex, which is accessible for all users. The doors are power assisted. There is a loop system for hearing aid users. Unfortunately performances are currently not signed or subtitled.
