Tutor: Merville Jones was one of the founding members of Phoenix Dance Company and since then has gone onto perform with Scottish Ballet, Steps Out, RJC Dance Theatre and Nubian Steps. Merville has been a full time contemporary dance teacher at Hammond School, Assistant Artistic Director for Kokuma Dance Theatre, Education Manager Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Artistic Director of M&EM Dance Company, Bucks Dance, North East Wales LTD and Swindon Dance's DansConnect Dance Company.
Merville is the core contemporary teacher on the Youth Dance Academy (Centre of Advanced Training) Swindon Programme and Exeter Programme. Merville has his level 6 Diploma in Dance Teaching and Learning - Children and Young People (Trinity College London).

Ballet is a graceful form of dance that helps improve your posture. At times physically demanding, ballet builds strength and stamina. Includes barre, centre work and grande allegro.
Tutor: Cath James danced in Australia for ten years with Expressions, Queensland Ballet and Dance North. She was a leading dancer with Rambert Dance Company and Siobhan Davies Dance for over 15 years. Cath has won an Olivier Award, a Southbank Award and UK Contemporary Dancer of the Year Award. She has taught many of the UK’s top contemporary dance companies, including Rambert, Random Dance and Richard Alston. Cath was a founding member of Jeremy James & Company and until recently was the Head of Special Projects for Siobhan Davies Dance.

Contemporary
A theatrical style of dance that challenges the conventions of ballet, favouring expressive movement that is lyrical and fluid. Sessions include a warm-up and exercises in technique (posture and alignment) to improve your overall strength and flexibility. Dance sequences encompass a range of styles – classical, Latin and street influences – offering a creative outlet.

African & Caribbean Dance
