Tea & Dawn Lyon in Conversation
- Wed 4 Mar , 7pm-8pm
- ICIA Art Space 1
*** EVENT from 2009 ***
To mark the opening of their exhibition, collaborative artists' group Tea (Peter Hatton, Val Murray and Lynn Pilling) talk to Dr Dawn Lyon, Sociologist, University of Kent. Tea creates ambitious visual arts projects which involve a wide range of audiences and locations, redefining public art. Here, they discuss their 'occupation' of Widnes Waterfront, a post-industrial wasteland, poised before a period of renewal. In temporary fragile structures - their "hides' - they observe, research, perform and record while offering hospitality and creating dialogues with invited experts who have a range of relationships to the area.
