Sophie Warren and Jonathan Mosley present a live event of rapid-fire three-minute readings that explore how to play utopia. A talk-show line-up of invited protagonists choose and read passages from science fiction to critical texts according to the “rules” of an emcee.

The event launches and extends the concerns of Warren and Mosley’s new book Beyond Utopia published by Los Angeles/Berlin publishers Errant Bodies Press and supported by the AHRC and University of the West of England. Including works and essays by Turner prize nominee Elizabeth Price, architect/academic Jane Rendell, artist writer Maria Fusco and curator/writer Paul O’Neill, Beyond Utopia explores the value of utopian thinking as a speculative tool with which to scrutinise contemporary society and spatial culture.
