Dinu Li & Dr Katie Hill in Conversation

  • Tue 16 Oct , 7pm (Reception 6pm)
  • ICIA Art Space 2

Dinu Li discusses his practice with Dr. Katie Hill, established curator, lecturer and writer who specialises in Chinese contemporary art. The discussion will unpick some of the key themes within the work in the exhibition as well as exploring broader influences of Li’s practice.

Katie Hill is a consultant lecturer at Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London contributing to their MA in East Asian Art, and the online and public programmes. She conducted the ‘In Conversation’ with the artist Ai Weiwei on the occasion of his monumental Sunflower Seeds sculpture at Tate Modern in 2010. She is currently co-editing a special issue of the journal Visual Art Practice (London Metropolitan University) on Contemporary Chinese Art and Criticality with Paul Gladston. She has recently been developing her own consultancy, the Office of Contemporary Chinese Art (OCCA) that represents and promotes Chinese artists and delivers educational programmes and events on Chinese art and culture.

Li’s signed publication The Mother of All Journeys will be available to buy during the evening.
