The University of Bath launched the Institute for International Policy Analysis (IFIPA) to further a common focus on aspects of public and social policy in the two departments of Social and Policy Sciences (DSPS) and Economics and International Development (DEID) in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

To summarise our agenda, we seek to contribute:

• to the analysis of global integration in the economic, political, social and cultural domains.
• to the analysis of more effective poverty elimination and the enhancement of life-long welfare, especially for structurally weak and vulnerable.
• to the analysis of sustainable management and the equitable use of the world's natural resources.
• to the analysis of the inter-generational transfer of rights and resources in ways which produce acceptable social outcomes.
• to the conceptualisation and tracking of universal rights and needs.
