IMI hosts delegation from Malaysia in collaboration with the British Council

April 2017

IMI welcomed a delegation of thirteen senior Malaysian academic and professional services staff on Tuesday 21 March 2017, as part of a programme of visits organised by the British Council.

Showcasing our mathematical sciences and chemical technologies research

Bringing together presentations from IMI, the International Office, two Centres for Doctoral Training (SAMBa and CSCT) and the Research and Innovation Services, the visitors were given a comprehensive account of how research in the mathematical sciences and chemical technologies at the University of Bath is carried out, achieves impact, and is managed and evaluated.

University of Bath's impressive research ecosystem

Prof Abang Azlan Mohamad from the Universiti Malaysia Sarawak commented on our ‘impressive research ecosystem’ and was highly appreciative of the range of material covered during the day.

The visit was part of the delegation's tour of UK Universities and centres that will enable closer collaboration between academia and industry in the UK and Malaysia. In addition to Bath, the delegation visited the Satellite Applications Catapult Centre in Harwell, the Smith institute, and the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

The delegation comprised representatives from six Malaysian Universities, including Universiti Sains Malaysia from where Bath has welcomed a number of delegations recently, and the Malaysian Department of Higher Education.
