Labelling of Laundry Items for their Safe Return

If you currently have lab coats or any other item requiring the University's laundry service, you must ensure the following :

1. All items are clearly identified using the approved University label and laundry marker.
2. Identification must include your name, your department and the University logo.
3. Dirty laundry must be put into black bags which are labelled with the number of garments inside.
4. Under no circumstances can objects be left in coat pockets (especially scissors, pens and knives)

The easiest way to ensure correct identification, is for you to use the University's standard laundry label and marker, which you sew inside the garmenht below the collar. No other location for this label is acceptable. This location has been designated for ease and speed of sorting of clean laundry when folded.

Please note that the University's laundry service will not be liable for the cost of lost items that have not complied with this procedure.
