University of Bath's Data Protection notification

The Information Commissioner maintains a public register of organisations that use personal data. The University has an entry on this register which specifies the main types of data used and the main purposes for which such data is used, e.g. Staff, Agent and Contractor Administration, Student and Staff Support Services, Education and Research. The entry also lists categories of data held under each purpose, e.g. personal details, education and training, as well as details of third parties to whom data may be disclosed, e.g. Funding Councils, Central Government.

The University's Registration Number is Z6290890. The current registration expires on 24 February 2013. The registration is renewable annually and any additions or alterations to the data being processed can be made at any time. The registration is maintained by the Data Protection Officer and any queries regarding it should be made to her. Similarly, if you are processing any data (e.g. maintaining a database or running a research project involving the use of personal data) and are unsure whether it is covered by the University's registration, please contact the Data Protection Officer.
