Summary notes of the Executive Committee held on 7 January 2004

1. University Publication Scheme

   The Registrar reported that the final version of the University Publication Scheme had been submitted to the Information Commissioner by the due deadline of 31 December 2003. The Librarian commented that the Information Commissioner was expected to issue further guidance, notably on the matter of charging, in advance of the introduction of the general right of access in 2005.

2. Establishment of a Working Group for the updating of the Claverton Campus Master Plan

   The Vice-Chancellor believed that a Working Party was required to ensure that the revision of the master plan in line accorded with long-term strategic objectives and the proper management of consultants appointed to undertake the necessary technical support work.

   Agreed: That a Working Group be established with the following membership and terms of reference.

   Membership

   Vice-Chancellor (in the chair)
   Deputy Vice-Chancellor
   Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Design
   Head of the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering
   Director of Estates
   Director of Marketing and Communication

   Other academic and administrative officers of the University would be called upon to provide advice in specialist areas.

   Terms of Reference

• To devise and recommend to the Executive Committee a master plan specification for use by consultants to update the current master plan up until 2016.
• To monitor the work of the consultants once appointed.
• To provide regular progress reports to the Executive Committee.

  The following items were noted without comment.
