Welcome to the SCR Wine Society
Membership of the Society is open to all staff of the University of Bath and (subject to approval) external people with University connections. The Society is to be run as an essentially non-profit making but self-sustaining organisation.
The main aims of the Society are to run wine and other tastings throughout the academic year and to stock a cellar of laid-down and currently drinking wines for purchase by members of the Society.
There is a single, non-returnable joining fee to become a member of the Society. Apart from establishing membership, this creates the working capital needed to run the Society's activities in a self-sustaining manner. The joining fee is £20.
Former members of the Senior Common Room who join the Society are eligible to receive one free bottle of wine, reducing the effective cost of joining. The distinction between those who were formerly members of the SRC and those who were not is made to recognise the value of the wine in the Society's cellar, made available by the now defunct Senior Common Room to facilitate the formation of the (then) new Society.
For those interested in finding out about the Society, we suggest you come to some tasting first to help decide if you want to join. To join, please download, complete and return the application for membership to Dr Steven Davies, Department of Physics, University of Bath, BA2 7AY.
If you have any queries, please contact Dr Steven Davies at s.r.davies@bath.ac.uk
