Omnibear
Hi my name is Omnibear and I enjoy travelling and going on holiday. If you are going away you can take me with you. If you want me to join you on a work or pleasure trip then you will need to book me because clever as I am I cannot be in two places at the same time. You can book me in two ways. For staff who use Oracle you will find my diary by clicking on the Open Agenda icon and typing in Omnibear. If you don't know what Oracle is then I have Omnibear Minders on the Committee who can check my diary for you. The only thing I ask in return is that you photograph me and send a copy with a caption to the Communications Officer. At the end of the year the Omnibus Committee will judge the photos and award a prize for the most original entry.

Off to South Africa
I went on a trip to Johannesburg, Cape Town and on Safari with Jill Parker, Faculty of Science Graduate School Manager. Check out my slide show where you can see me on the balcony in Cape Town with my two new friends. Not sure about those ostriches on the beach, though - much too tall and with beady eyes, but if I pretended to be one of the rocks... . Back to Jo'burg, and time for some relaxation on the sun lounger - and maybe the jacuzzi. Tiring, this travel lark.
Then to the Kruger: If I sat up really straight I can really really nearly be as tall as these funny knobbly giraffe things. And as for the leopard, she was scary and the heffalump things were much too big - luckily I am too small to be noticed. But I am getting the hang of this wild animal thing, it's quite easy really. I must learn to snarl.
Ah. Time for a quiet drink, a bask on the sunlounger, and then the jacuzzi....
Pity about the plane coming back - we were supposed to be back on Sept 25th which ended up as 26th after an adventure with faulty landing gear, fire engines and a 24 hr delay. I nearly managed to stay there forever. Looking forward to my next jaunt. Any suggestions?

Mixing with the Royals in Norfolk
I went of to Norfolk with Fran Saunders from BUCS and her dogs. Now someone told me I might run into some little brown dogs whilst here at Sandringham but I'm not sure if these are the ones they meant? Please write to me c/o The Loop (Omnibus newsletter), if you can help. By golly there were so many dogs at the Royal Norfolk Show, but no royals that I could see, only lots of Pimms! Lots of Pimms too in Cambridge too amongst the punts and colleges! See me out and about on my slide show

In search of the Loch Ness Monster
I accompanied Angela Berners-Wilson, who is the University Chaplain, on her trip to Scotland and here you can see me at Urquhart Castle on the banks of Loch Ness. A rumour reached the Omnibus committee that I had been spotted and photographed by Inverness Castle drinking champagne. Of course I couldn't possibly comment. See me on my slide show.
