Bath's international feast
Students from the University of Bath joined in with the local community last Saturday to put on one of the most successful Bath International Evenings since it started, 17 years ago.
The beautiful Banqueting Room at the Guildhall welcomed over 200 people to the event, which aims to celebrate the diversity of cultures in Bath. With such a beautiful venue, the event didn't just satisfy your taste bugs, but also was a visual delight to all its guests.
More than 18 countries were represented by students and members of the community, who served delicious specialities from their country, as well as offering guests the chance to learn more about their culture. After eating, guests went on to enjoy the world music disco, or even a free henna tattoo! The evening ended in dance, smiles and laughter and needless to say, the evening was a great success all around.
The event is sponsored by the University of Bath and a lot of students were among the guests. Extra thanks were put forward to the BIE Committee for all their help and work throughout the years. All guests and participants were urged to volunteer to help with next year's event, as without support and help, this might have been the last one. As this event is going from success to success, it would be a shame if this year's event was to be the last one.
