Our networks

We are working with networks of researchers, policy makers and practitioners – locally, nationally and internationally. These networks are central to our vision of the IPR as an interactive hub, bringing these worlds together. They are also central to the University’s strategies of internationalisation and public engagement and its wish to engage with the major challenges of the modern world.

Locally the IPR is active in the new GW4 collaboration with the Universities of Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter. It has also established a practitioner forum with local government and organisations, through which the local community can become involved.

Members of the IPR are involved in research and policy networks across the UK and internationally, as indicated under our themes. We are building links between these networks, bridging the research and policy worlds and building communities of practice.

We will develop expert groups in different world regions, involving researchers, policy makers and practitioners. Through these we aim to engage more effectively with policy challenges emerging in different national and global contexts and make the IPR a vehicle for cross-national policy learning. This will also enable us to engage more effectively with international bodies, including the EU, keen to fund high quality international research teams.

Our international alumni network is an important resource for these efforts.
