Google Drive and Google Docs

Google Drive is a suite of products that lets users create different kinds of online documents, work on them in real time with other people, and store these documents online.

The key components of Google Drive

  • Documents – An online word processor that allows users to create and format text documents and collaboration with other people in real time.
  • Spreadsheets – An online spreadsheet application that lets users create and format spreadsheets, charts and gadgets, and simultaneously work with other people.
  • Presentations – An online presentations editor that allows users to create documents in a visual way.
  • Drawings – An online editor that lets users create a wide range of drawings whilst working collaboratively with other people.

Google Drive has already been used extensively by researchers here to collaborate on writing, and also by participants on The Bath Course to collate questionnaire data.
