About this course
Aim
This is a short (45 minutes) session.
The aim of this short session is to identify some of the possible learning contexts for blogging and micro-blogging in your learning and teaching. The session will identify the characteristics of the blogging and micro-blogging, unpack a number of different teaching and learning opportunities, and discuss how you might get started.
As a pre-requisite you are advised to read the discussion paper: _Using micro-blogging (Twitter) in your teaching and learning: An introductory guide (http://opus.bath.ac.uk/15319/)
Approach
The following principles underpin how we design and develop our face to face staff development workshops and seminars:
- Use a range of different styles
- Adopt an informal approach
- Focus on the participants' needs
- Act as a showcase for the effective use of appropriate technologies
- Contextualise how the workshop fits into our wider staff development programme
- Our role is to facilitate not to lecture
- Showcase case studies and uses from the University of Bath
