Innovation in Learning and Teaching Week 2009

Highlights of the week

Vox Pop: A 10 minute video filmed and edited by Campus TV around the theme of innovations Week. Questions about assessment, feedback and student engagement were asked of staff and students. View the interesting array of responses here (mov format only)
'The Dragon's Den': A special call for funding bids organised by the Learning and Teaching Enhacement Office.
Two proposals were funded:

Poster competition on 'Sharing Practice': sharing practice at individual and departmental level around the Innovation Week theme, Feedback to Students and Engagement with Students.
The competition winners were both Students' Union staff members:
- 1st prize Siobain Hone
- 2nd prize Becky Gallagher

Exhibitions of external organisations: Poster displays and an abundance of information to take away. There were representatives from the Higher Education Academy (HEA) Subject Centres including those for Bioscience, Economics, Information and Computer Sciences, and Health Sciences and Practice. There were also displays from Centres for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CETLS), including the Blended Learning Unit (University of Hertfordshire), Active Learning in Computing (University of Durham), and the Reinvention Centre for Undergraduates Research (University of Warwick).
