About this course
The aim of this workshop is to provide an overview of reflective writing in supporting and enhancing an individual's professional practice and providing evidence of doing so. It is particularly relevant to members of staff on the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic and Professional Practice (PGCAPP).
By the end of the workshp participant should be able, or better able, to:
- identify the key features of reflective writing in contributing to a portfolio of professional practice
- write a reflective commentary that: reveals the nature and challenges of some aspect of their professional practice; shows how they have responded constructively to them; and provides evidence of what they have learnt as a result.
About the presenter
Trevor Day is a Fellow of the Royal Literary Fund at the University of Bath and is also a professional writer and writing development facilitator. Originally a Biologist, his PhD is in Education so his background takes in both science and social science. His current research interests include academic literacies theory and practice in relation to technical writing in science and engineering.
