About this course
Aims
The aim of the workshop is to investigate how the effective use of technology might enhance large face to face teaching. In particular, it will allow you to gain hands-on experience at developing learning activities using Audience Response Systems, text messaging, lecture presentational software (tablet pcs) and multimedia. There will also be the opportunity of discussing some of the issues we'd need to consider when implementing these technologies in our teaching.
Approach
The following principles underpin how we design and develop our face to face staff development workshops and seminars:
- Use a range of different styles
- Adopt an informal approach
- Focus on the participants' needs
- Act as a showcase for the effective use of appropriate technologies
- Contextualise how the workshop fits into our wider staff development programme
- Our role is to facilitate not to lecture
- Showcase case studies and uses from the University of Bath
