The first Education Awards evening took place on Tuesday 2 May at the Hilton Hotel, Bath. The evening was hosted by the Students’ Union and the Centre for Learning & Teaching. The Education Awards celebrate and recognise the work undertaken by students and staff at the University, awarding prizes to the Academic Rep and University Teaching Award winners.

Over 200 nominations were submitted by students and staff for the Academic Rep awards, a significant increase from previous years.  Academic Reps were praised for their commitment to the student voice at a departmental, Faculty/School and institutional level, often taking on additional opportunities such as participating in TraCA and chairing Staff Student Liaison Committees.

Ben Davies, Students’ Union Education Officer said, “It was fantastic to attend the first ever Education Awards evening, celebrating the amazing contributions our Academic Reps and our teaching staff give to this University. Congratulations to all our nominees and award winners, it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening for all.”
