Learning & Teaching Enhancement Office attend international e-Learning workshop
Gwen van der Velden, Director of the Learning & Teaching Enhancement Office (LTEO) together with Kyriaki Anagnostopoulou, Head of e-Learning, are visiting India following an invitation from the British Council to participate in an international workshop on national and institutional e-Learning.
The visit has been set up to establish long term international relationships between institutions with a focus on technology based teaching innovation.
Gwen van der Velden said:
‘In many countries the value of awards by distance learning, or awards that are strongly based on e-Learning activities, are met with some reservation by public as well as private employers. We hope to use this opportunity to start exploring ways of benchmarking e-based learning to address the challenges and widen access to higher education.’
Other institutions represented at the workshop will be the:
- India Institute of Technology
- Indira Ghandhi National Open University
- University of Delhi
- University of Goa
- University of Hyderabad
The workshop will be hosted by Mr Ashok Thakur, Secretary of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Department, Government of India, and will be broadcast live to an open learning TV channel across India.
