Latest timescales for the Moodle 2 upgrade
We are currently in the process of upgrading our virtual learning environment to Moodle 2. All users need to be aware that we are on schedule and that the upgrade will take place next week between Monday 17 and Friday 21 December 2012.
Moodle 2 will provide a fresh new look together with improved functionality. We are making every effort to minimise disruption during next week, however, you may find it useful to be aware of the upgrade schedule as follows in order to plan your learning and teaching accordingly:
- Monday 17 December (am)
Moodle will be unavailable to all users
- Monday 17th December – Friday 21st December
Moodle will be available on a read-only basis from the usual location
As soon as a read-only version of Moodle has been made available, the migration itself will
begin. This will run in parallel with all other installations and is expected to take up to 48
hours to complete.
Once the upgrade has been completed, the new version will be subjected to a period of
intensive testing before it is finally approved and made available as the live Moodle installation
(by Friday 21st December).
